This turned out rather well if I do say so myself.

I've gotta make a junkyard run to get the stupid seal/clamp thing I need to put it in since GM loves designing weird ass parts and I refuse to pay $90 for what is essentially a metal clamp with some rubber in it.

I did actually do a mod to the throttle’s butterfly valve that raises horsepower ever so slightly and increases throttle response. Yay actual gains!

The throttle response is so much better. On my test drive afterwards I kept spinning my tires. I could be crazy but I hear a little more induction noise too.

I remember there was some guy on the forums that was insisting that it was total BS, no power gain, because GM wouldn’t have put it there if it didn’t help and that he had a buddy that worked at AC Delco that had told him about it. He ended up getting banned and carrying on the argument from his son’s account.

He MAY have been right about the “no power gain”, but frankly if it improves drivability actual power gains don’t mean shit. Either way I’ve wondered about it ever since I found that comedy piece
